A ‘Dark Ride’ installation held at ‘Lick Warehouse’ with talks, DJ’s and of course delicious frozen yogurt, hosted by Lick.

Persistent Peril vs Paul Hayes: ‘Dark Ride’, in association with Lick (Frozen Yogurt), is a three day installation featuring the ride in its physical and virtual forms. Based in Lick’s amazing warehouse in New England House, the installation takes the form a psychical miniature dark ride made out of lego monorail track, which you can ‘ride’ via the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

The event is held over three days, starting with a launch party Friday night then the weekend will feature ‘Virtual’ and ‘Reality’ drop in sessions with Paul Hayes and Ginny Jones. All three days will give you the chance to experience the Oculus Rift ‘ride’ first hand.

Join us at the Lick Warehouse to be amongst the first to experience the ride. Take a look at the real miniature ride, before trying out the Oculus Rift virtual reality goggles and ride it for yourself. Created alongside Paul Hayes, the installation manifests itself as a physical miniature ride, that can be experienced through the Oculus Rift. Drinks, music and, of course, Lick Frozen Yogurt for all!

Saturday 13th September 11am – 5pm: Installation and ‘Virtual’ drop in with Paul Hayes.

Saturday’s informal workshops will focus will be on the tech behind the ‘Virtual’ aspect of the installation. Come along between 11am-3pm and talk to Paul on how he worked his magic to link the ride with the Oculus Rift. The instillation remains open until 5pm.

Sunday 14th September 11am – 5pm: Installation and ‘Reality’ drop in with Ginny Jones (of Persistent Peril).

Sunday’s workshops will look at the physical ride and the surrounding artwork. You may even have a chance to take some track, pop a camera on it, and and build your own ride!
