FAQ

Here are some of the more frequently asked questions about Brighton Digital Festival.

FAQ

How do I create an event for the festival?

Event submissions are now open! You should download our Event Organiser’s Submission Guide and get registered to add your event. Find out more by visiting our Organiser’s Info page.

To be included in the printed festival programme, the deadline for event submissions is Sunday the 20th of July. So get your event submitted before then if you want to be included in the 40k printed festival programmes that are distributed across the city and beyond.

Can’t make the deadline? Don’t worry! Submissions for your event to be part of the festival won’t close until September, so you won’t miss out – if you’re a latecomer or just want to be included on the web-only programme, you can add your event at any time before the festival begins on September 1st.

What criteria do events have to meet in order to participate?

As an open platform festival, BDF operates on a principle of presumed acceptance for all events, and guidelines are therefore minimal. However, the BDF reserves the right to refuse acceptance into the festival programme. Organisers registering to the site will need to be authenticated and their events reviewed before going live.

How can I get involved with the BDF community?

BDF Community Meetups happen on the 4th Tuesday of the month, from 6pm at the Victory Inn pub in Brighton. These are open to everyone and anyone who’s interested in hearing the latest news and meeting with organisers, volunteers, and the festival team. RSVP via our Eventbright page.

BDF Town Hall Meetings are larger, more structured meetings which are a perfect opportunity for the festival team to communicate the latest developments to organisers, volunteers, sponsors and friends of the festival. We will be organising these Town Hall at key dates throughout the year.

For the latest updates, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook – and signup to our newsletter on the form on the footer of this page to receive updates straight to your inbox.
