dConstruct 2013

dConstruct 2013 is a veritable smörgåsbord of clever clogs gathered together to twist our perceptions of technology and culture.

The dConstruct conference takes place at the Brighton Dome on the first Friday of September every year. It is preceded by two days of hands-on workshops at the nearby Lighthouse venue.

My name is Jeremy. I work at Clearleft. We’ve been working to put together a terrific day of talks for this year’s dConstruct.

dConstruct has a different theme every year. Last year it was “playing with the future.” This year it’s “communicating with machines.” The line-up for this year features designers, developers, artists and researchers from the worlds of web, mobile, security, comedy and music, all united for one day of exploration and entertainment.

For one day, the workers of the web come together to think about the big picture. If you want practical, hands-on instruction, you should come to the workshops but the conference itself is all about inspiration, mind bending, and good ol’-fashioned fun.

“Yes, but what exactly can I expect?” you may ask. Well, you can listen to the audio in the dConstruct archive to get an idea of the kind of topics that will be covered: creativityculture, and interaction design to name just three. But the truth is that it’s hard to describe: you kind of have to be there.
