The Brighton Bloggers community and website was born during the Virtual Festival of 2003, which means the Digital Festival was a great time for a meet up. An opportunity to meet up and talk with bloggers in the Brighton area, with an advice session for people to find out more.

The Y Design Awards were launched last year to recognise and reward the UK's leading creative talent demonstrated through the use of digital technology. The evening event on Brighton Pier announced the Peoples’ Choice Award which recognizes the best overall piece of work entered into the 2007 YDA scheme.
Y Design Awards are over for this year, congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who voted!

Informal training by the local community for the local community. Volunteers gave up some of their free time to train a small group of their peers in a subject that interests them. Usually sessions take place every month or two: for this week of the Festival, there was be a session every night. Read more here.

A day for web developers to get introduced to the Adobe technologies driving some of the hottest applications on the web such as YouTube, Google Finance and Yahoo Maps. Topics included Flash, Flex, and the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) for creating visually rich, high performance, and cross platform web applications. Flash Brighton is a local group of Adobe Flash platform enthusiasts, including designers, animators, and coders. Free.

OpenStreetMap is a project aimed squarely at creating and providing free geographic data such as street maps to anyone who wants them. The project was started because most maps you think of as free actually have legal or technical restrictions on their use, holding back people from using them in creative, productive or unexpected ways.
