Video art by Rachel Reupke. In one continuous camera movement Land of Cockaigne presents a god's eye view of the Sussex Downs, punctuated with choreographed incidents of human activity. Land of Cockaigne is a video by Rachel Reupke shot directly from the chamber of the camera obscura (Lat. dark room) at Foredown Tower in Portslade Village, Sussex. Read more at Fabrica's site.

The Brighton Bloggers community and website was born during the Virtual Festival of 2003, which means the Digital Festival is a great time for a meet up. It was an opportunity to meet up and talk with bloggers in the Brighton area, with an advice session for people to find out more. More info here.

// Sonic Body

The Sonic Body is a newly commissioned audio-installation that uses interactive technology to create an orchestra of the human body. Developed as a collaboration between four interdisciplinary artists and a heart surgeon, the installation brings together art and medical-science to reveal the un-heard sounds of the body. The Y Design Awards were launched last year to recognise and reward the UK's leading creative talent demonstrated through the use of digital technology. The evening event on Brighton Pier announced the Peoples’ Choice Award which recognizes the best overall piece of work entered into the 2007 YDA scheme.

Y Design Awards are over for this year, congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who voted!

A meet-up for programmers, web developers and designers to discuss and showcase their "£5 apps"- lightweight software created by one or two people who take a simple idea and run with it. The discussion will range from technical (what tools/languages were used during development) to business (building communities, spreading the word, costs and rewards). Lots of ideas and experiences were discussed so a big thanks to everyone who spoke at the event.
