14-11-06 - Over £300 raised for SOS Children’s charity!

Wired Sussex donated takings from the door of the African Animation Night and raffle entries to African AIDS charity, SOS Children. Thanks to all who stumped up and made a real difference to the lives of children affected by AIDS.

Last night Wired Sussex partnered with onedotzero for the third year to present 'The Expanded Film Maker' a special innervisions panel event and networking session for digital film makers, animators, designers and students. Well over 100 people attended this event and heard the views of filmmakers Steve Glashier and Carolina Melis.

18-11-05 - Your Digital Brighton Competition – The Result

In a competition being run by Future Platforms, digital partners of the Brighton Digital Festival, Brighton residents were invited to send words, pictures and video clips from their mobile phone that represented 'their Brighton'. Entries were then be displayed together on the final night of dSCAPE/05 creating a digital montage of Brighton through the eyes and minds of those who live here. d.Construct 2005 was the UK’s first grassroots Web 2.0 conference. It was an affordable, one-day event aimed at those building the latest generation of web-based applications. Podcasts of the event are now available online.

07-10-05 - d.Construct 2005 Takes Place Tomorrow

d.Construct 2005, Europe’s first grassroots Web 2.0 conference, takes place at Fabrica tomorrow. The event will discuss how new technology is transforming the web from a document delivery system to an application platform. Internationally renowned speakers will discuss hot-topics such as Ajax, using the power of API’s and the future of the mobile web.

Voting opens today for the Brighton & Hove Web Awards. After trawling through and scoring the many nominations, the judges have finally drawn up a short-list of those sites which scored highest in each category.

Be sure to check out the websites that made it through to the finals and don't delay, get voting now!

21-10-05 - Voting for the Brighton & Hove Web Awards 2005 opens on 31st October

The judges are currently scoring all the sites nominated for this year's Web Awards. The shortlist of finalists is being created based on the points awards by the judges. The five sites in each category with the highest number of points awarded overall will be put onto the shortlist and invited along to the awards ceremony on the 10th November.

The shortlist will be uploaded onto the Web Awards site on the 31st October enabling everyone to vote for the shortlisted website in each category that they want to see win.
